Wi-Fi Solutions for Schools, Universities & Colleges

Traditional guest Wi-Fi methods, such as accepting terms and conditions, often don’t work for schools and universities where students are forbidden from connecting personal devices to the guest network. Common issues include leaked passphrases and inefficient manual user account creation for each visitor.

BYOD networks are challenging due to the need for capacity, user authentication, device identification, and access limitations in schools and universities. Networks must be designed for capacity, not just coverage.

Schools, colleges, and universities with 1Gbps internet connections can face bandwidth issues when supporting 1000+ concurrent devices, especially with high-bandwidth activities like streaming 4K videos. Exhausted bandwidth impacts real-time applications like Teams Meetings and voice calls. The rise of connected classrooms necessitates robust WLAN designs that accommodate high device densities and specialized applications like Apple TVs and collaboration tools. Our designs support these modern educational tools effectively.

Capacity planning for schools, colleges, and universities requires understanding device numbers, types, capabilities, applications, user numbers, and high-activity locations. Ensuring wireless access in critical areas like academic buildings, dorms, athletic facilities, and outdoor spaces is essential.

Understanding the unique demands of applications such as VoIP, streaming video, and location services is essential. We ensure these applications are thoroughly vetted and designed into the WLAN environment to prevent performance issues.

Designing Wi-Fi for new or fully renovated spaces allows for the latest technology implementation without the constraints of existing infrastructure. Our WLAN professionals handle predictive designs for non-existent buildings to ensure accuracy and future-proofing.
