Cambium cnMaestro Migration Guidance and FAQ

Cambium cnMaestro Migration: Client Guidance

01

Preserve your current state

Inventory APs, switches, licensing, sites, groups, WLANs, device-level overrides and integrations before making changes.

02

Prepare an on-premises path

Review cnMaestro On-Premises 6.0 requirements, export/import work, change windows and operational ownership.

03

Evaluate replacement in parallel

Compare the work of an interim controller migration with the cost and timing of a planned platform refresh.

Recommended client posture

Do not panic-replace functioning equipment. Preserve your current state, verify management continuity, and compare the effort of an interim cnMaestro migration with a planned refresh.

FAQ: Cambium Networks Transition, Current Status and Airspan Transaction

Is Cambium Networks out of business?

Cambium Networks Limited is in UK administration. Selected assets have been sold to Airspan, while the Joint Administrators say they are pursuing potential going-concern transactions for the remaining business units. That is different from saying every Cambium business or product has ceased operating.

Did Airspan buy Cambium enterprise Wi-Fi and switching?

Not in the transaction Cambium announced on September 23. That transaction covers the defense business and selected fixed wireless product lines. Enterprise Wi-Fi and switching were not listed among the acquired product lines.

What exactly did Airspan acquire?

Cambium identified the PMP 450 platform, PTP 670, PTP 450i, PTP 700, 28 and 60 GHz cnWave, cnReach, and related LINKPlanner, cnHeat, and cnMaestro capabilities as they relate to those products.

Is cnMaestro Cloud still available for enterprise devices?

Cambium said cnMaestro Cloud support is extended through at least October 2026, including the enterprise portfolio. Its September 24 enterprise guidance also says Cloud may not support Enterprise devices after the end of October and recommends preparing a move to cnMaestro On-Premises.

FAQ: Cambium Networks Migration, Client Actions and eTribeca Support

Should we migrate to cnMaestro On-Premises now?

Cambium’s current guidance recommends migration for enterprise APs and switches. Your timing should account for the size of the environment, configuration export limitations, operational change windows, and whether you are evaluating a platform replacement.

Do we need to replace working Cambium equipment immediately?

Not solely because of the announcement. The practical first step is to document the environment, preserve configuration information, identify cloud and license dependencies, and decide whether to hold, migrate management, or replace based on business risk and lifecycle needs.

What can eTribeca review?

eTribeca can review current APs, switches, cloud/controller dependencies, floor plans, RF requirements, PoE and uplink requirements, licensing, and migration options. The review can support either a Cambium continuity plan or a replacement design.

Can eTribeca provide a RUCKUS replacement plan?

Yes. For eligible projects, eTribeca can prepare an illustrative replacement map, fresh predictive RF design, RUCKUS One management plan, switching review, competitive project-pricing request, and optional onsite validation.
