Flagship Wi-Fi 7 Access Points: Going Beyond the New Wireless Standard

Wi-Fi 7 Access Points enabled work spaces are the future of networking

As technology evolves, so do its use cases and our behaviour. Consider how phones have changed over time. Initially, landlines tethered us to one place for communication, but mobile phones freed us to make calls from virtually anywhere, transforming both work and daily life. Adding a camera to a device that’s always in our pocket made sense, and now the camera is often a key factor when deciding which phone to buy. Similarly, the ubiquitous wireless access point (AP) has evolved beyond simply delivering fast Wi-Fi.

Access points are now installed in corporate offices, shopping malls, warehouses, stadiums, schools, and more, offering more than just connectivity. HPE Aruba Networking’s approach has always been to provide value beyond the latest 802.11 standard. These access points enhance mobility, improve security, boost IoT connections, and enable advanced location-based services.

Introducing The HPE Aruba Networking 750 Series Wi-Fi 7Access Points

Aruba’s Wi-Fi 7 portfolio has expanded with the introduction of the HPE Aruba Networking 750 Series Campus Access Point, HPEs flagship Wi-Fi 7 AP designed for demanding users and applications. It delivers up to 18.7 Gbps in maximum tri-band aggregate data rate and goes beyond the Wi-Fi 7 standard. It maximizes 6 GHz capacity by up to 30%, connects twice the number of IoT devices, enhances security across wired and wireless networks, and enables highly precise location-aware capabilities.

Maximizing the 6 GHz Band with Wi-Fi 7 Access Points

The new Wi-Fi 7 standard (802.11be) builds on Wi-Fi 6E, introducing wider 320 MHz channels, multi-link operation (MLO) for channel aggregation and failover, and 4K QAM for higher peak data rates. Like Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 7 also leverages the 6 GHz band, significantly expanding available spectrum.

Taking advantage of both the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands can present interference challenges. However, the 750 Series APs, along with the HPE Aruba 730 Series, utilize patented ultra tri-band filtering (UTB) technology, originally developed for the 650 Series. This allows for simultaneous use of the upper 5 GHz and lower 6 GHz channels without interference, offering up to 30% more available channels—especially crucial in regions where the 6 GHz band is limited. Organizations no longer have to choose between the top of 5 GHz or the bottom of 6 GHz—they can now use both.

Key Features of the 750 Series Wi-Fi 7 Access Points

Flagship Performance: The 750 Series offers three 4×4 MIMO radios for tri-band coverage across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands, delivering up to 18.7 Gbps in aggregate data rate. Future software updates will support dual 5 GHz and 6 GHz radio modes, enabling a maximum aggregate data rate of up to 28.8 Gbps.

Dual 10 Gbps Ethernet Ports: These provide fast, secure connectivity, eliminate coverage gaps, and increase network resiliency.

Antenna Flexibility: Choose between internal or external antenna models to fit various environments, making these APs versatile for different industries.

Enhanced Security: Aruba will introduce MACsec encryption (coming in a future release) to wireless, extending wired data protection with link-level encryption.

Precision Location Services: In addition to GPS, the 750 Series includes a barometric sensor that determines floor level, enabling 3D mapping within the HPE Aruba Networking Central Floor Plan. It also supports the latest location standard (802.11az) to deliver sub-1 meter accuracy.

Sustainability and Energy Savings: AI-powered dynamic power-saving mode analyses AP duty cycles and recommends power-down opportunities without sacrificing necessary connectivity.
