Wi-Fi 7 Access Points

HPE Aruba Wi-Fi 7 Access Point AP 730

Flagship Wi-Fi 7 Access Points Redefine Connectivity

As technology evolves, so do the use cases and behaviours surrounding it. Consider the transformation of communication devices. The shift from landlines tethered us to specific locations, while mobile phones liberated us, enabling calls from anywhere. This evolution has fundamentally changed our work and daily lives. The addition of cameras to these devices now serves as a crucial factor in purchasing decisions. Similarly, the wireless access point has undergone a significant transformation.

With access points strategically placed throughout corporate offices, shopping malls, warehouses, stadiums, parking lots, schools, and more, they provide more than just rapid Wi-Fi access. HPE Aruba Networking’s strategy focuses on enhancing business value through access points that not only comply with the latest 802.11 standards but also provide critical business mobility, improved security, robust IoT connectivity, and innovative location-based services.

The recent expansion of Wi-Fi 7 portfolio includes the HPE Aruba Networking 750 Series Campus Access Point. This flagship Wi-Fi 7 access point is engineered for demanding users and applications, offering a maximum triband aggregate data rate of up to 18.7 Gbps. It surpasses the Wi-Fi 7 standard by maximizing 6 GHz capacity by 30%, accommodating twice as many IoT devices, enhancing security across both wired and wireless networks, and facilitating highly accurate location-aware capabilities.

Maximizing the 6 GHz Band with Wi-Fi 7

The new Wi-Fi 7 standard (802.11be) extends the capabilities of Wi-Fi 6E access points by introducing wide 320 MHz bandwidth channels, multilink operation (MLO) for channel aggregation and failover across different bands, and 4096 QAM (4K QAM) for higher peak data rates. Like Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 7 leverages the 6 GHz band, significantly increasing wireless spectrum capacity.

Utilizing both the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands can introduce interference challenges. However, the 750 Series access points and the recently launched HPE Aruba 730 Series utilize patented ultra tri-band filtering (UTB)—originally designed for the 650 Series and exclusive to HPE Aruba Networking—to enable concurrent use of upper 5 GHz and lower 6 GHz channels without interference. This capability allows for 30% more channels and is especially crucial in regions with restrictions on the 6 GHz band. Organizations can now benefit from both the upper 5 GHz and lower 6 GHz channels simultaneously.

Highlights of the 750 Series Wi-Fi 7 Access Points

  • Flagship Performance: Three 4×4 MIMO radios provide tri-band coverage across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz, achieving a maximum triband aggregate data rate of 18.7 Gbps. With optional dual 5 GHz and 6 GHz radio modes (supported in a future software release), the maximum aggregate data rate can reach up to 28.8 Gbps.
  • Dual 10 Gbps Ethernet Ports: Eliminate coverage gaps and enhance resiliency while ensuring fast, secure connectivity.
  • Antenna Flexibility: Choose between internal or external antenna models, making these access points suitable for various verticals and physical environments.
  • Enhanced Wireless Security: Building on an extensive suite of wireless security features, MACsec (coming in a future software release) will introduce link-level encryption capabilities, extending wired data protection to the access point.
  • Precision Location Services: The 750 Series access points feature a new barometric sensor that adds a third dimension of height to location information, allowing for accurate floor-level identification. This enhancement, combined with the latest location standard (802.11az), offers sub-1-meter accuracy, compared to approximately 2 meters with previous standards.
  • Sustainability and Energy Savings: AI-powered dynamic power save mode optimizes the access point’s duty cycle, recommending which units can be powered down without compromising connectivity.

As wireless networks evolve to accommodate hybrid work environments, increasing numbers of IoT devices, and higher user expectations, exploring Aruba’s access point portfolio is essential. AI-driven RF optimization, rich intelligence, and smart management options—available through cloud or on-premisess solutions—enhance IT, user, and IoT experiences with enterprise-grade Wi-Fi that is intelligent, fast, and secure. The HPE Aruba Networking lineup of indoor, outdoor, ruggedized, and remote Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E, and Wi-Fi 7 access points caters to various use cases and price points, all Wi-Fi CERTIFIED and supported by a limited lifetime guarantee.
